Monbatt launches new Mannol GLV-ONE 0W-8 engine oil

Monbatt, the exclusive approved Mannol distributor for Ireland, has launched the new Mannol GLV-ONE 0W-8 engine oil onto the Irish market, meeting the growing demand for energy-efficient lubricants in hybrid and electric vehicles.

The Mannol GLV-ONE 0W-8 meets this requirement by combining an exceptionally low viscosity with dependable wear protection. In doing so, the oil delivers tangible fuel savings and helps cut CO₂ emissions.

“By blending a PAO and ester base with an optimised additive package, we’ve engineered an oil that both minimises frictional losses and delivers reliable engine protection along with excellent thermal stability,” said Dmitry Roskach, chief technology officer at Mannol.

According to Mannol, its new GLV-ONE 0W-8 improves fuel economy by up to 2.1 per cent versus a 0W-16 reference, while simultaneously delivering a noticeable reduction in CO₂ emissions. Its low ash and phosphorus formulation also lessens catalyst loading, thereby extending the lifespan of exhaust‐aftertreatment systems.

The GLV-ONE 0W-8 is engineered for modern petrol and diesel engines, whether turbocharged or naturally aspirated, with direct injection in passenger cars, light SUVs, minibuses and light commercial vehicles.

Hybrid powertrains such as EREV, REEV, PHEV, BAHV and HEV benefit particularly from its low-viscosity 0W-8 formulation and optimised performance profile.

The oil is compatible with alcohol-based fuels, including ethanol blends up to E85, and supports all common exhaust-aftertreatment technologies such as DPF, GPF, TWC, EGR and SCR.

Moreover, it meets API SP, API SQ and JASO GLV-1 requirements and is available in five-, 20- and 208-litre containers.
