UPG attends Elring technical training course to strengthen expertise
UPG UK & Ireland recently took part in a specialist engine management training course hosted by Elring.
Held at The Motorist, Leeds, the hands-on training session brought together aftermarket professionals for an in-depth look at modern engine sealing and management systems.
UPG says its participation “reflects the company’s ongoing investment in developing the knowledge and technical understanding of its team to better support customers across the UK and Ireland”.

Martin Butterworth, managing director of UPG UK & Ireland, said: “As a leading automotive parts supplier, it’s vital that our team has a deep technical understanding of the products we provide. Events like these allow us to strengthen that knowledge first-hand, ensuring our customers benefit from informed advice, accurate technical support and trusted solutions every time they contact us.”
The training, delivered through Elring’s mobile classroom – a custom-built Dodge RAM pickup equipped with a BMW display engine and specialist tooling – provided participants with valuable practical experience and insights into real-world engine assembly challenges.
UPG’s attendance is part of its wider focus on technical collaboration and continuous learning, ensuring its sales and support teams are equipped with the same up-to-date expertise as the technicians and workshops they serve.
Butterworth added: “Our role in the aftermarket goes beyond supplying parts. It’s about understanding the challenges our customers face on the workshop floor and making sure we’re providing the technical confidence and product knowledge to help them succeed.”
