Bryan Knott appointed as IAAF CV Committee Chairman
The CV division of the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has appointed Bryan Knott as its new Committee Chairman.
Bryan Knott replaces outgoing Chairman, Darren Miller, who stood down after being asked to work in Australia by his employer, commercial vehicle parts supplier, TTC.
Knott has been a member of the IAAF (www.iaaf.co.uk) CV committee since 2008 and is a well-known figure in the CV aftermarket. His work history includes spells with Federal Mogul, TMD Friction and Klarius. He is currently the CV and PCV Business Development Manager at Hella.
The IAAF has a remit to ‘serve, strengthen and promote’ the independent automotive aftermarket on behalf of its members and Bryan Knott says he is relishing the opportunity of working with CV parts suppliers that have become members of the IAAF. “I’m really pleased to have been given this chance to lead the IAAF’s CV division and to help the federation address the issues that matter to the independent commercial vehicle parts market. We have a great group of enthusiastic and knowledgeable people on the committee and there’s a lot to do.”
One of the issues that the CV division of the IAAF is currently fighting is a common complaint from the independent aftermarket that truck manufacturers are not making key technical information – including servicing, security resets and parts cataloguing data – readily available to independent CV parts suppliers and repairers. Information like this should be guaranteed under a number of EU directives that include Block Exemption and other ‘Euro’ emissions rules.
