Trico triumphs in Auto Express review
A new product, the beam blade kit, from Trico has been put to the test by the products team at Auto Express and has received four out of five stars.
Packaged in an eco-friendly carton box, the range is comprised of just 95 references – 73 direct fit kits for OE beam blade applications, and 22 ‘retrofit’ kits for hybrid and upgrade applications – and caters for more than 95 per cent of the beam blade vehicle parc.
Trico claims that due to its ‘superkit’ design that comes with an optional alternative connector, over 40 per cent less stock is required compared to competitor ranges, which often require in excess of 150 SKU’s to attain the same coverage.
The new kits contain two of Trico’s ‘X1’ design blades manufactured and packaged in Europe. Trico supplies this same blade as OE to VAG, for a multitude of vehicles including the VW ID.4, Golf 8, T-Roc; the Audi Q4, Q5, Q7, TT; the Skoda Citigo, Kodiaq, Superb; the Seat Ibiza, Leon, Rapid and Mi.
Putting the new range through a wipers ‘mini test’ ahead of its annual product awards, Auto Express stated that the blades were “simple to install, with the clips already attached” and that the wiping performance in heavy rain was excellent, ultimately awarding the product four stars.
