NGK raises cash for BEN

NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd raised more than £4000 for motor industry charity BEN on its stand at Motorcycle Live – the UK’s biggest motorbike show.

The company collected £4133.29 in donations, including a staggering £2015 on the final day, from visitors to the show in exchange for promotional ‘goodie’ bags.

More than 106,000 bike enthusiasts attended the nine-day event at Birmingham’s NEC including HRH Prince William The Duke of Cambridge who visited several manufacturers’ stands to size up a few of the many new models for himself and to chat with some of the show’s visitors.

NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd Marketing Manager Gerard Irving said: “It was fantastic to have raised so much money for such a worthy charity as BEN and I would like to thank everyone who made donations.

“Motorcycle Live gave us the opportunity to meet so many bike enthusiasts who use our spark plugs. It was good to see such a well known keen motorcyclist as The Duke of Cambridge at the show and his appearance generated a lot of interest amongst exhibitors and visitors.”

NGK is synonymous with the two-wheel bike scene both on the road and also in the motorcycling racing arena where its spark plugs have helped the world’s leading teams and riders to numerous victories.

Nine out of 10 bikers rely on NGK spark plugs which is no surprise as the company supplies the original equipment (OE) spark plugs for most motorcycles on the market.

Pride of place on the stand was the 2013 Kawasaki ZX10-R that two-wheel star Joe Burns competed on in this year’s Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship and there were also action images of the numerous riders and teams that NGK sponsors.
