New marketing director at Liqui Moly

Lubricant specialist Liqui Moly has named Marco Esser as its new marketing director, succeeding Peter Baumann who is retiring at the end of the year after 39 years with the firm.

Effective 1st January 2025, Esser takes over the role having previously been the Ulm-based company’s deputy marketing director, and former head of corporate communications.

Peter Baumann has been Liqui Moly’s marketing director since 1993. Notable milestones in that time include establishing a presence in the German Bundesliga for the first time with TSV 1860 Munich, becoming an official partner of Formula 1, and being involved with MotoGP for more than 10 years.

Successor Marco Esser said: “Such a long history with just as many successes doesn’t come along too often. Following Mr. Baumann in this role is a great honour on the one hand, and a huge challenge on the other. We have had a very good, long and intensive period of coordination, for which I am very grateful. And I’m especially grateful for the trust of Mr. Baumann and the staff.

“I will do everything I can to adequately succeed him. At the same time, however, I now take my hat off to his ‘term of office’ and wish him all the very best for his retirement. There will always be a place for him with us in the Liqui Moly family worldwide, which of course he knows.”
