OAPs are an integral part of the Front End Auxiliary Drive system (FEAD) and are designed to absorb vibrations and fluctuations in the FEAD.

Eleven new part numbers will cater for more than 302,000 vehicles and include some significant new additions for Japanese cars. These include a new OAP for more than 126,000 vehicles including the Honda Civic VIII CR-V, Accord 2.2i-CDTi, another for more than 53,000 vehicles including the Lexus IS II, RX, GS, 2.2D and 2.5D, and another for more than 40,000 vehicles including the Toyota Auris, Yaris, Avensis 1.6 VVTi and 1.8VVTi.

There’s also an OAP released for a vehicle parc of more than 21,000 vehicles including the Audi A4, A5, A6, A7, Q5, and Q7 3.0TDi and 2.7TDi.

Malcolm Short, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd Technical Services Manager, said: “These are important new INA OAP releases for the independent automotive aftermarket
which cater for a range of some of the most popular vehicles on the road today, including Japanese models.

“More than four million vehicles in the UK are fitted with an OAP and these new additions will enable independent garages to work on even more of these vehicles.”
