Donegal family make rallying history on Top Part Championship
A trio from the same Donegal family have possibly made Irish rallying history, taking the top three overall spots in the 2025 Top Part West Coast Rally Championship.
Declan Boyle and co-driver Patrick Walsh finished first overall, followed by his son, Michael, and Dean O’Sullivan in second, with his other son, Matthew, accompanied by Gary Byrne in third overall.
The rally’s organisers believe this achievement is the first time in Ireland that a father and his two sons have all finished on the overall podium of a six-round championship.
The Top Part West Coast Rally Championship is one of Ireland’s leading regional rally championships, and has been sponsored by Top Part Motor Factors since the beginning, when it first launched back in 1993.
Organisers claim it is the longest standing sponsorship of a championship in Irish rallying history.
