Demand for Asian vehicle parts accelerates – Comline Ireland
As demand for used cars from Asia continues to rise exponentially, Comline Ireland is seeing similar levels of demand for replacement parts.
As a leading specialist in Asian vehicle coverage, the global supplier has told FactoFocus.ie that it is keen to emphasise the “outstanding availability and exceptional OE-matching quality” across its extensive product range.
Over the last decade, Ireland has experienced a seismic shift in consumer preference toward Asian vehicles – particularly those imported from Japan. Analysis from Cartell, based on SIMI data, revealed that in July last year, Japan had overtaken the UK as Ireland’s top vehicle supplier.
Between 2014 and 2023, Japanese imports into Ireland increased nearly tenfold, rising from 2,321 to 21,716 units. Reliability, high specifications, and overall value are widely credited as the main drivers of this surge.
Irish registrations of used cars imported from Japan have continued to surge this year too: from January to September 2025, volumes rose nearly 20 per cent to 26,942 units – September alone jumped nearly 57 per cent year-on-year.

Comline coverage hits the mark
With more Asian vehicles – from Japanese and Korean manufacturers, especially – hitting Irish roads, the need for OE-matching quality, readily available replacements parts has never been stronger. Comline Ireland is delivering, with one of the most comprehensive aftermarket catalogues – a one-stop-shop for Asian marques, including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai and Kia.
Filtration, braking, steering and suspension, hubs and bearings, and lubricants are just some of Comline Ireland’s fastest-moving categories. Thanks to its large distribution hub, Comline Ireland is ensuring both motor factors and workshops can service this growing market.
Trusted quality and reliable availability
Comline Ireland has forged strong relationships with leading manufacturers, carefully selected and frequently audited, to ensure its high-quality standards are adhered to. Furthermore, its products are covered under warranty for three years or 60,000km from fitment.

Comline Ireland general manager, Damien Larkin, said: “Ireland’s appetite for Japanese imports isn’t a fleeting trend; it’s reshaped the Irish car parc. At Comline Ireland, we are perfectly positioned to cater this demand and also increase availability if the trend continues its likely trajectory.
“Customers are telling us that Asian vehicle coverage has become a crucial part of their business, and they know that we’re here to support them with quality and availability.”
