Continental adds new electrically controlled water pump for VW

If an electrically controlled water pump starts to malfunction, the big question is whether the control unit also needs to be replaced – or is still intact and so can be retained. Continental has made it easy for workshops to be equipped for both scenarios.

The WP6145 water pump model comes without a control unit for when the existing item is still intact and can therefore continue to be used. Also available is the new WP6134 water pump complete with control unit, should the old one need to be replaced.

Continental says this ensures reliable engine cooling in around 5.6 million vehicles throughout Europe, including the widely found 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre units from the Volkswagen Group.

These are fitted, for example, in the Volkswagen Tiguan, T-Roc and Golf, and the Cupra Formentor. The new water pump is also included in the CT1167WP4PRO and CT1185WP5 kits.

As ever, Continental offers registered workshops an extended five-year guarantee – for greater safety and satisfied customers.
