ACDelco set its sights on growth

Aftermarket parts supplier, ACDelco, has its sights set firmly on securing growth throughout 2013 inline with forecasts. Indeed the an-European operation has already spent little time accelerating its new product introduction programme, having launched a comprehensive 1200 part number range of brake discs.

Despite admitting that the aftermarket sector remains testing, Lee Quinney who heads up ACDelco in the UK and Europe remains upbeat about the operation’s prospects over the coming months.

“Despite sales growth proving difficult to attain last year, we were successful in achieving higher levels of profitability than anticipated. This emanated from us being successful in achieving excellent parts availability rates, across a product offering that is fine-tuned to the needs of the aftermarket and which is competitively-priced.

“The ACDelco brand remains revered for its quality and we continue to have great expectations for its ongoing development both here in the UK and across Europe. On the back of having launched AGM batteries in December and an extensive brake discs programme earlier this month, clutch will also continue to benefit from significant new part numbers being added. Indeed we are looking to add growth to this product group by around a further 50% this year alone. Also coming into focus product wise will be spark plugs, bulbs and fluids,” adds an enthusiastic Quinney.

In addition to also developing its association with a number of the aftermarket’s main buying groups and prominent industry factors, all of whom ACDelco continues to enjoy increased penetration with, Quinney and his team remain intent on developing opportunities outside of home shores. During the last twelve months, for example, ACDelco has seen its products being sold in both Turkey and Cyprus for the first time and is expected to make two additional overseas parts partnering announcements over the coming months.

As Quinney concludes: “As our ongoing success domestically and overseas demonstrates, it is the companies that keep their heads out of the sand that will thrive and ACDelco intends to lead from the front on this.”

In addition to closing off 2012 having made its first foray into the AGM battery arena, ACDelco was successful in launching a 1500 part number range of brake pads in the same year, not to mention rear wiper blades, the latest generation of dexos fully synthetic oils, additional bulb part numbers and a significant number of new references in clutch.
