Continental completes sale of ContiTech automotive business

Continental has officially completed the sale of its ContiTech business unit, Original Equipment Solutions (OESL) to American private equity firm, Regent L.P.

The sale agreement for OESL to Regent was signed in August of last year, when Continental announced its plans to restructure its three group sectors — Tires, ContiTech, and Automotive — as independent companies.

Following these changes, Continental AG will operate exclusively as a global tyre company.

Both Continental and Regent have agreed not to disclose the purchase price and further details.

OESL currently employs around 14,000 people and generated sales of around €1.7 billion in fiscal 2025.

The business area develops and produces hose lines and bearing elements for combustion-engine and electric vehicles.
