Meyle V-ribbed belts now available in EPDM quality

Meyle is changing to EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) material for all V-ribbed belts from its drive components product group.

Meyle V Ribbed Belts copyBy doing this, the company is taking advantage of the material’s excellent temperature consistency and extended service life. The Meyle range of V-ribbed belts covers more than 90 per cent of the most popular passenger car applications.

EPDM is a synthetic caoutchouc which is considered the key technology to pushing the limits of product life. Setting store by highest-grade materials, Meyle now supplies V-ribbed belts exclusively made from EPDM. This ensures highest operational reliability and uninterrupted power transmission at all temperature extremes – from cold to hot.

Virtually inert to the influence of ozone and oxygen present in the ambient air, EPDM helps increase part life considerably. In addition, the material ensures low-noise operation. Meyle V-ribbed belts in EPDM quality cover over 90 percent of all leading passenger car applications.

In the drive components product group the range of elastic belts is also growing continually. As they do not require any tensioning mechanisms elastic belts yield important weight and cost savings. For increased ease of installation Hamburg manufacturer Meyle recommends using special tools from tooling specialist Sauer Spezialwerkzeuge, with whom the company collaborates closely.
