{"id":34464,"date":"2025-09-30T14:56:17","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T13:56:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/?p=34464"},"modified":"2025-09-30T14:56:17","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T13:56:17","slug":"shaftec-raises-over-11k-for-charity-following-skinflint-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/index.php\/shaftec-raises-over-11k-for-charity-following-skinflint-rally\/34464","title":{"rendered":"Shaftec raises over \u00a311k for charity following Skinflint Rally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shaftec Automotive recently took part in the Skinflint Rally, which saw the Birmingham-based automotive remanufacturer surpass its fundraising goal for the occasion.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This event saw 28 colourfully adorned cars of all makes travel well over 1,000 miles through France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria and Italy en route to the picturesque Slovenian town of Bovec.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/IMG-20250922-WA0029-2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1440\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-76206\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Shaftec entered two teams and set a target to raise \u00a310,000 for Zoe\u2019s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry as part of the company\u2019s \u201c30 for 30\u201d campaign, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Shaftec brand.<\/p>\n<p>Team 1, made up of Marc Wise, Chris White and Callum Dunbar, travelled in a Ford Focus, while Team 2 featured Mitesh Thanki, Aidan Vellender and Jim Harvey in a Volkswagen Golf.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the event, each team was set a range of challenges, with points awarded for photos of their cars at landmark locations such as disused airfields and abandoned military buildings.<\/p>\n<p>Shaftec won the award for the highest amount raised for Zoe&#8217;s Place Baby Hospice.
