James Shippen has recently joined Ring Automotive\u2019s sales department after being the company\u2019s senior marketing executive for the last three and a half years.<\/p>\n

He will be primarily managing accounts in the North West of England, seeking out new opportunities for business development and growth and arranging workouts with customers.<\/p>\n

Shippen has more than 12 years of experience in marketing, three of which has been at Ring Automotive, giving him extensive product knowledge and understanding of the aftermarket.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I\u2019m sad to be leaving the marketing team, I\u2019ve been helping out in the sales department for the past year alongside my marketing responsibilities and I really enjoyed it,” said Shippen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of transferrable skills from marketing to sales, I always had an interest in the sales aspect of marketing, especially as I specialised in managing stands at events for Ring Automotive. Getting out on the road, meeting new and existing customers, building relationships and explaining our products is something I thoroughly enjoy, so once the sales opportunity came up, I had to take it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI enjoy working at Ring Automotive, there\u2019s such a variety of products that are appropriate for a wide variety of new customers in a range of sectors, whether that\u2019s automotive, construction, plumbing or agriculture. I\u2019ve already learned a lot in the short time I\u2019ve been working with the sales team, and coming from a different department within Ring, I have a very strong foundation of knowledge of the products and customers we already have so it was an easier transition for me.
