<\/p>\nELTA Automotive will open a new light measurement and photometry test facility later this year, which is said by the company to be one of a handful of its kind across the UK and Europe.<\/p>\n
At the heart of the new facility will be a five-megapixel imaging photometer with a matched lens and Sony\u2019s latest Pregius CMOS sensors. ELTA says this advanced equipment will enable it to accurately measure light output and beam patterns in compliance with Regulation 112, ensuring the highest standards for its products.<\/p>\n
Developed with technical consultancy from expert manufacturing partners and a “no-expense-spared approach”, ELTA says this cutting-edge facility underscores the company\u2019s commitment to advancing quality assurance and testing capabilities.<\/p>\n
Purpose-built for the new equipment, the new light testing facility is powered by a dedicated programmable AC power source to maintain a controlled environment and consistent testing conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll ELTA bulbs are manufactured to meet regulation R37 standards and achieve e-mark status,\u201d explained Tim Brotherton, marketing manager at ELTA Automotive. \u201cKey aspects of R37 compliance, such as geometry, photometry, and performance metrics like wattage, luminous flux, and kelvin temperature, are rigorously tested by our manufacturing partners throughout manufacture and beyond.<\/p>\n
“At our new facility, we can now test bulb performance in headlamps to ensure compliance with Regulation 112, verifying optimal light output and precise beam patterns,” he added.<\/p>\n
Road safety is central to ELTA\u2019s mission, and the new testing facility ensures that light is directed precisely where it\u2019s needed\u2014on the road\u2014while avoiding prohibited beam cut-off areas that cause glare. This precision helps protect other road users from being dazzled, enhancing safety for everyone.<\/p>\n

Later this year, ELTA plans to invite customers, key industry figures and the trade press to visit the new testing facility, offering distributors a firsthand look at the company\u2019s technical capabilities.<\/p>\n
