{"id":32576,"date":"2024-11-07T15:24:55","date_gmt":"2024-11-07T14:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/?p=32576"},"modified":"2024-11-12T10:38:33","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T09:38:33","slug":"ring-launches-rscp20-battery-support-unit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/index.php\/ring-launches-rscp20-battery-support-unit\/32576","title":{"rendered":"Ring launches RSCP20 battery support unit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ring Automotive has added to its battery support unit range with the launch of the RSCP20, which combines three key battery tools in one unit.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The RSCP20 is a battery support unit with a 20amp smart charger suitable for lead, gel, calcium, AGM, EFB and Lithium batteries and has an 80amp jump start function.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/RSCP20_INSITU_008-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"855\" height=\"570\" class=\" wp-image-72188 aligncenter\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Its primary use is battery support, providing a constant current while mechanics carry out diagnostic work or data uploads. However the unit is useful in a variety of situations, as the jump starter can be used on cars and 4x4s, when a vehicle needs to be moved. <\/p>\n<p>It can also be left connected as a charger to undertake reconditioning of a battery to optimise the battery health. In addition, the unit can carry out alternator and battery tests to assess the health of the starting system..<\/p>\n<p>It also has a reverse polarity protection and over-voltage protection. The over-voltage protection means it will stop adding charge if the voltage in the battery starts to increase too much.<\/p>\n<p>Marketing director for Ring, Henry Bisson, said: \u201cWe have found that technicians are beginning to look for equipment that serves multiple purposes. For example, they don\u2019t just want a jump starter or just battery support unit anymore, they\u2019d rather have a unit that incorporates these and other functions, such as battery analysing and alternator testing, so they don\u2019t need different tools. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This makes their work easier, as they do not have to keep switching equipment to do different jobs on a vehicle when it\u2019s all in one place. Therefore, we have started creating battery support units that can help with numerous jobs.
