{"id":30049,"date":"2023-09-06T15:49:28","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T14:49:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/?p=30049"},"modified":"2023-09-07T15:51:06","modified_gmt":"2023-09-07T14:51:06","slug":"castrol-to-remain-recommended-supplier-to-ford","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/index.php\/castrol-to-remain-recommended-supplier-to-ford\/30049","title":{"rendered":"Castrol to remain recommended supplier to Ford"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Castrol has agreed new five-year extension with Ford Motor Company to remain its recommended lubricant supplier across Ford\u2019s European dealer network.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As part of the deal, the two companies will also continue the co-development of automotive fluids until December 2027.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/ford-owners-eu-2016_E_Interactive_Reception_001-3x1-2160x720-bb-castrol_billboard.jpg.renditions.extra-large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"863\" height=\"310\" class=\"size-full wp-image-66967 aligncenter\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since first supplying lubricants to Ford in 1914, Castrol has used this partnership to drive innovation in automotive fluids. These include the development of co-engineered oils for the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine that won the \u2018International Engine of the Year\u2019 award three years running, as well as ongoing motorsport collaborations, most recently with Ford\u2019s Word Rally Championship (WRC) team.<\/p>\n<p>Development of Ford-Castrol engine oils began when the EcoBoost engine was first introduced in 2002, and the Ford-Castrol Magnatec product range is now five-strong, including two formulations that include Dualock technology.<\/p>\n<p>Dualock, which features in the 0W-30 D and 5W-20 E formulations, protects against engine damage caused by continuous start-stop driving.
