{"id":23595,"date":"2020-09-15T05:29:01","date_gmt":"2020-09-15T04:29:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/?p=23595"},"modified":"2020-11-10T16:04:14","modified_gmt":"2020-11-10T15:04:14","slug":"ngks-lindgren-leads-world-speedway-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/index.php\/ngks-lindgren-leads-world-speedway-championship\/23595","title":{"rendered":"NGK&#8217;s Lindgren leads World Speedway Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NGK-sponsored Speedway star Freddie Lindgren sits astride the 2020 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship after a fantastic weekend performance in Poland.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Swede won round four of the GP series in Gorzow the day after coming third in round three at the Edward Jancarz Stadium.<br \/>\n\u2018Fast Freddie\u2019 now sits seven points clear in the championship on 66 points while fellow NGK-sponsored star three-time British World champion Tai Woffinden is in fourth position on 53 points.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Image-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1181\" height=\"1772\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-53966\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Despite impressing with two third places and a fourth going into the fourth round, Lindgren admits he was determined to end his wait for a win.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cThis was a bit of a burden lifted from my shoulders tonight \u2013 to be able to finally get a win when I have been in three finals and not been able to execute it. It feels really good. I am super happy \u2013 so, so happy! You don\u2019t want to be the guy who makes it to the final and never wins.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a relief to be able to do it. I have that burden off my back now and I can keep the focus for next weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously that\u2019s where I want to stay, but the main thing is to be there at the end in Torun. So we will keep taking it race by race and we\u2019ll see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Image-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1181\" height=\"787\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-53967\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ignition specialist NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd is a long-time supporter of Speedway, also sponsoring Russian Emil Sayfutdinov and Slovenian Matej Zagar in the Grand Prix series, with all the riders\u2019 bikes being fitted with the company\u2019s spark plugs.<\/p>\n<p>NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd Marketing Manager Mark Hallam said: \u201cIt was a fantastic performance by Freddie in Poland. He has been in fine form over the season and I\u2019m delighted he is in first place in the championship with Tai just two places below him.
