{"id":23493,"date":"2020-09-01T05:35:21","date_gmt":"2020-09-01T04:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/?p=23493"},"modified":"2020-11-10T16:05:00","modified_gmt":"2020-11-10T15:05:00","slug":"ngk-sponsored-m-sport-ford-wrc-returns-to-the-track","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/index.php\/ngk-sponsored-m-sport-ford-wrc-returns-to-the-track\/23493","title":{"rendered":"NGK-sponsored M-Sport Ford WRC returns to the track"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NGK-sponsored M-Sport Ford World Rally Team\u2019s EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta WRCs will be back in action this week as the FIA World Rally Championship resumes at Rally Estonia.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been almost six months since the pandemic brought world sport to a standstill.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23494\" src=\"http:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMAGE-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1181\" height=\"726\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMAGE-3.jpg 1181w, https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMAGE-3-300x184.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMAGE-3-1024x629.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.factorfocus.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMAGE-3-768x472.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1181px) 100vw, 1181px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The event, which takes place from September 4-6, marks the first return to live competitive rallying since the team\u2019s Teemu Suninen and Jarmo Lehtinen took third place at Rally Mexico in their Ford Fiesta WRC.<\/p>\n<p>The Fiesta is fitted with NGK spark plugs and NTK Lambda sensors.<\/p>\n<p>Hosting the return of top-flight rallying, the Estonian fixture has been organised in line with new guidelines set out by the FIA and Estonian Government.<\/p>\n<p>Strict protocols are in place to ensure a safe and successful return. These include mandatory testing, the use of face coverings, social distancing and the creation of groups to minimise the potential risk.<\/p>\n<p>As a new event in a new-look 2020 calendar, Estonia becomes the 33rd country to host a round of the FIA World Rally Championship and is famed for its blisteringly fast, high-speed, stages.<\/p>\n<p>Estonians have a love for rallying and the gravel stages are not unfamiliar to the top teams \u2013 all of which attended a WRC Promotional event in Estonia last year.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Hallam, marketing manager, NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, said: \u201cI\u2019m sure that all NGK customers who are WRC fans will be delighted that the season is finally getting underway again and will be following the progress of the M-Sport team.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NGK-sponsored M-Sport Ford World Rally Team\u2019s EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta WRCs will be back in action this week as the FIA World Rally Championship resumes at Rally Estonia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3164,"featured_media":23494,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-23493","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 -
