UFI renews ETRC partnership with John Newell
For the 2026 season of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC), UFI has renewed its collaboration with British driver John Newell and NWT Motorsport, extending a successful partnership.
The renewed agreement builds on several years of collaboration marked by tangible results and an increasing presence in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, further strengthening UFI’s position in one of the most competitive motorsport environments dedicated to heavy-duty vehicles.
In 2026, John Newell will once again take the wheel of Lagertha, the UFI-branded MAN Chassis racing truck developed in collaboration with Stefan Honens Racing Services.
Delivering more than 1,100 horsepower and 5,500 Nm of maximum torque, the truck competes on Europe’s leading circuits, showcasing technology, reliability and extreme performance.
The Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship is Europe’s premier truck racing series, combining thrilling competition with technological innovation for the heavy-duty vehicle industry.
From this year onward, the championship enters a new phase under the direct management of the FIA, further strengthening its governance, growth strategy and international visibility.
Sustainability remains a key focus, demonstrated by the use of sustainable fuels to reduce emissions and by initiatives such as the recovery and reuse of racing tyres, which are reconditioned for a second life on the road.
