New timing belt fitment video from FAI
FAI understands the importance of keeping technicians up-to-date with training and technical know-how and has introduced a new video that offers comprehensive instruction on how to fit a new Timing Chain Kit.
The video is introduced by Dominic Moxon, Senior Product Manager for this product portfolio at FAI.
FAI says that Timing Belt Chains are becoming more popular with engine designers, as they allow for greater power and economy whilst minimising space, so it is a certainty that more cars that enter the aftermarket for repair will feature a Timing Chain.
FAI says it supplies every part that is needed for a complete repair, including gaskets, oil feed pipes and other ancillaries. Fitting a Timing Chain is a longer and more complex job than replacing a timing belt and there are a number of critical steps that must be observed in order to ensure that the Timing Chain has a long and trouble-free life.
FAI says this this is a good opportunity for the aftermarket as the labour and parts are more expensive and hence justify a higher repair cost. However, unless the Timing Chain is expertly installed, the job can come back, with expensive implications for the installer.
