New documentary series offers unique look into Donegal International Rally
TG4 has announced the upcoming broadcast of Taobh Thiar den Roth – Donegal International Rally, a new four-part documentary series.
In the style of Drive to Survive, the series takes viewers behind the scenes of one of Europe’s most celebrated rally events, offering a rare and immersive look at the drivers, co-drivers, mechanics, safety crews and organisers.

At the heart of the series is a compelling cast of characters. Rising talent Jordan Greene McGee, alongside his co-driver Tony, takes on his first-ever Donegal International Rally, supported by a close-knit service crew of family and neighbours, where every service stop is a race against time.
Seasoned veteran Kieran Ó Rabhartaigh, competing in his 31st rally, is joined by co-driver Mícheál on the demanding Donegal stages. Turloch Ó Duibhir continues his development with each outing, while Eamonn McGee holds the operation together in his role as Clerk of the Course, and Suzanne McCafferty remains a driving organisational force behind the event.
The series also features two-time winner Callum Devine, as he bids to complete a remarkable hat-trick, alongside father-and-son duo PJ Mór and PJ Óg McDermott, who compete together for the very first time.
This production marks a significant milestone in Irish-language broadcasting as the first fully commissioned television series produced entirely within the Donegal Gaeltacht of Gaoth Dobhair.
