Shell and Hyundai Motor Company have recently signed a new five-year global partnership contract which extends the commitment until 2026.
Shell, the number one lubricants supplier globally for 14 consecutive years, will continue to collaborate with Hyundai as the ‘Exclusively Recommended Lubricants Supplier to HMC’s Global Aftermarket’.
The pair have collaborated and mutually supported each other’s growth over the past years, even during the pandemic. Both companies carried out multiple co-op projects to support Hyundai’s global customers.
Shell says it is also working with Hyundai Motorsports in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) as the official sponsor, supporting the team with its second consecutive victory in the competition.
While Hyundai states it is looking to increase eco-friendly vehicle production and continue its transformation into a ‘Smart Mobility Solution Provider’, Shell says it is focusing on clean energy and carbon reduction including the introduction of carbon neutral engines oils such as the new Shell Helix Ultra ECT C2 C3 0W30.
For the next five contract years, Hyundai and Shell intend to support each other in the aftersales market. In the near future, both companies state they plan on cooperating on schemes for the energy supply business for electric vehicles and fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).
Speaking on this partnership in Ireland, Craig Williams, aftersales director at Hyundai Cars Ireland, says: “The collaboration globally between Hyundai Motor Company and Shell Lubricants reinforces the strength of our continued partnership and our Dealer Network only providing the Right Oil for the Right Hyundai on every occasion.”
