NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd is renowned for going the extra mile when it comes to looking after its customers. And that was never truer than when it arranged for garage manager Shane Ferguson to experience the trip of a lifetime when he visited the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
For the company organised for the 42-year-old to drive up Goodwood’s famous hill-climb in the event’s Mercedes ML63 AMG high-performance course car.
The manager of Coles & Blackwell Garage atWalter’s Ash, High Wycombe said it was a day he will never forget.
He said: “It was an absolutely fantastic experience; utterly brilliant. We went up the Hill like a rocket and when we got to the top there were a host of F1 drivers there including Lewis Hamilton putting their cars through their paces.”
Shane attended the show with his 14-year-old sons Jake and Daniel and had visited the NGK stand with Mark Darvill of Allparts Automotive Ltd.
He said: “I am a friend and customer of Mark’s and had gone to the NGK stand with him when the opportunity came up. I can’t speak too highly of NGK and their staff. The hospitality was fantastic and I can’t thank them enough for organising this for me.
“I always use NGK products. They are straightforward to fit and so reliable and I have never had a problem with them.”
A record 196,000 enthusiasts attended this year’s Festival of Speed which featured a vast array of legendary names from the world of motorsport including eight of the current F1 teams, plus over 150 motor racing heroes; from Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, to Emerson Fittipaldi and Kenny Roberts.
