Invisible Glass wiper blades shortlisted for Innovation Award

Launched in Ireland last year, the Invisible Glass Ceramic Silicone wiper blades have already been shortlisted for CAT’s brand new award category – the Innovation Award.

Manufactured under licence by Simply Brands, the Invisible Glass Ceramic Silicone beam blades are built with a premium silicone rubber element, more resistant to extremes of heat than traditional rubber blades. Silicone rubber resists warping under high temperatures and remains flexible in extreme cold temperatures to avoid cracking.

Furthermore, the silicone rubber element deposits a rain repellent coating on the windshield – resulting in water simply beading up and running off the screen to further improve vision and safety.

Not content with just this premium silicone element, the team behind Invisible Glass wipers went one stage further, applying an exclusive ‘Cerashell’ ceramic compound coating to the blade edge. This ceramic coating helps to protect against UV and ozone degradation, one of the biggest causes of premature wear to wiper blades, particularly during the summer months.

This combination of a premium element with an exclusive coating results in a blade that has been proven to last up to four times longer than industry standard wiper blades, with independent durability testing putting the blades through their paces to more than two million wipe cycles.

Coming as a single blade in each pack, the range comprises of 10 references covering almost every wiper arm type on the road, resulting in the range being suitable for around 95 per cent of vehicles in Ireland.

Simply Brands business development manager, Sam Robinson, who spearheaded the development and launch of the Invisible Glass wiper blade offering, said: “When we started creating the Invisible Glass wiper blades, we wanted something that was completely different to every other wiper blade on the market.

“We achieved this goal, and this is further enforced when we get nominated, and even get into the final five companies for the Innovation Award from CAT. We’re thrilled with becoming a finalist for this category with this product and we’re looking forward to the awards ceremony in February.”
