Quartz Xtra, the new range of lubricants from TotalEnergies, is now available to the Irish market from Finol Oils.
It says the new range is made up of advanced synthetic lubricants to optimise engine performance while protecting mechanical parts to improve longevity.
Quartz Ineo Xtra First 0W-20 is an advanced synthetic engine oil, formulated and used for Peugeot/Citroen factory fill and aftersales. This pollution-control synthetic engine oil provides engines with the best possible protection against wear and clogging, according to Finol.
The post-treatment systems, sensitive to the lubricants used and expensive to maintain, are also protected over the long-term thanks to the Low SAPS formulation (low content of sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur contents).
Finol claims using this engine oil can help generate fuel savings of 3.7 per cent without the need to change driving style. It is also suitable for the most demanding driving conditions (door-to-door, sports driving, repeated start-ups, city and motorway driving, etc).
Quartz Ineo Xtra First 0W-20 is particularly well-suited for use with recent engines of Peugeot/Citroen (DV5R and EB2DT), and particularly ones equipped with BLUE HDi, PureTech using Stop & Start technologies, and hybrid engines that require new-generation engine oils.
It guarantees compliance with all the performance levels claimed by Peugeot, Citroen and DS concerning environmental standards, according to the Finol.
The latest innovation from TotalEnergies, Eco-Science technology improves engine life and efficiency, optimises engine care and lowers fuel consumption. Eco-Science technology is the latest breakthrough from Total Lubrifiants.
It says its cutting-edge hyperactive molecules are designed to instantly regenerate and reform themselves, resisting both physical and chemical degradation. Oil oxidation is minimised while fuel economy and engine performance are maximised.
Eco-Science technology offers long-lasting cleanliness and protection against ageing as well as significant fuel economies. Less fuel consumed translates to less carbon and particles emissions.
The manufacturer claims Quartz Ineo Xtra First 0W-20 optimises how three-way catalytic converters and particulate filters operate, preventing them from getting clogged up with soot or sludge deposits. This reduces particulate emissions, NOx, HC and CO in particular.
It adds that the 0W-20 grade, together with special additives, makes cold engine starts easier, even at very low temperatures (validation tests carried out down to -40°C)
