Denso – not just Spark Plugs
Denso is one of the world’s largest suppliers of automotive systems and components with global sales amounting to €27.7 billion annually.
The company, an ever present in Europe since 1973, has over 13,000 employees and has 17 manufacturing plants across 14 countries, servicing both the OE and aftermarket activities.
The Denso vision is to “work towards a future automotive society that has less cause to worry about environmental hazards and traffic safety.” The company says it will achieve this by making things that last. “When we develop systems we consider the entire vehicle, when creating components we think about the entire system.”
With this philosophy anyone that purchases a Denso part can be assured that they have a part of the highest OE quality, fit for the purpose intended and overall excellent value for money.
Thermal Management
The Denso market share of thermal management products and systems is growing very rapidly mainly because of its innovative developments. With a range consisting of compressors, condensers, radiators and radiator fans, it should come as no surprise then, that Mercedes has chosen Denso for 100 per cent supply of its A/C compressor requirements.
Engine Management
Denso is very active at OE level when it comes to engine management systems. Denso has just recently released 10 air mass sensors and five ignition coils, alongside its 352 Lambda sensors for the aftermarket.
The Denso name is synonymous with spark plugs and with a spark plug for almost every engine application it is easy to see that Denso is the trade’s no 1 choice. Denso has introduced a specific range of spark plug called the TT (Twin Tip). This range of spark plugs employees “Super Ignition” technology which is standard fit on a lot of new Ford and Volvo applications. With just 10 part numbers now covering almost 90 per cent of the vehicle parc stocking and identifying the correct spark plug couldn’t be easier.
When it comes to glow plugs, Denso has an application for almost any diesel engine and the company is one of the leading developers of glow plug technology, and was the first to introduce ceramics back in 1991.
Rotating electrics
Since 1960 Denso has poured its world leading engineering expertise into developing smaller, lighter units that can maintain the highest possible output.
As the Denso unit is new, there is no core surcharge and no returns procedure. Denso plans to have over 900 applications in this range by end of 2012.
Wiper Blades
As an OE supplier and manufacturer of wiper blade technology it comes as no surprise that Denso’s latest innovation “hybrid wiper blades” are standard fit on the Mazda 6, Opel Insignia, Saab 9-5, Honda Jazz, Subaru Legacy, Toyota Prius and Urban Cruiser.
The hybrid wiper blade from Denso can be retro fitted to any vehicle with a standard wiper blade (9 x 4” fitting) offering the latest wiper technology to older vehicles.
