Delphi expands first-to-market brake pad range

Despite 2020 being an unprecedented year for the global automotive industry, Delphi Technologies says its braking program has made great strides this year to become the first-mover supplier in Europe.

The firm recently announced two more first-to-market brake pad applications in its European braking program; front brake pads for the new Toyota Yaris Cross (09/2020>) and front brake pad for the Toyota Prius PHV (05/2019>).

The new applications join an already extensive list of first-to-market brake pad applications. The total of first-to-market applications added in 2020 covers 24 models across 12 vehicle manufacturers – a company record for the aftermarket braking program.

Delphi Technologies’ first-to-market brake pad applications announced in 2020:

  • DS 7 Crossback
  • Ford Focus, Kuga (hybrid)
  • Honda Jazz
  • Hyundai i10
  • Land Rover / Range Rover Defender, Discovery Sport, Evoque
  • Nissan NV250
  • Opel / Vauxhall Movano
  • Peugeot 208
  • Toyota Yaris Cross, Prius PHV
  • Volkswagen Golf Mk8, Tiguan

“To make sure our customers have all the right parts for the right repair, we’ve added a total of 284 new parts this year to our aftermarket braking program which includes brake discs, brake drums, brake hoses, brake drum kits, brake shoes, brake cylinders, and more,” Delphi Technologies said in a statement.

The manufacturer added: “By continuously expanding our braking program, Delphi Technologies Aftermarket enables new business opportunities for our customers by providing access to high-quality replacement parts for a rapidly growing car parc in Europe.

“While top vehicle manufactures are planning electrification goals for Europe, we’re gearing up our braking program to provide a full-service solution for the new electrified car parc, with plans to expand our HEV and BEV brake pad line-up in 2021.”
