Comline Auto Parts teams up with Richardson Racing

Leading aftermarket parts brand, Comline Auto Parts (Comline), is partnering with British- based Richardson Racing and its driver, Will Bratt, for the upcoming Porsche Carrera Cup GB season.

This new alliance will see the hugely experienced Will Bratt take to the track under the ‘Comline Richardson Racing’ moniker and piloting the #91 car, a number chosen as a nod to the year of Comline’s founding back in 1991.

Bratt’s Porsche 911 (991) GT3 Cup racer will also be adorned with Comline’s distinctive blue and yellow livery for the 2021 season.

Bratt joins Richardson Racing team-mates, Will Martin and Josh Malin, for the eight-event, 16-round series and brings championship-winning pedigree to the team having previously claimed honours in the Euroseries F3000, Italian F3000 championships and Formula Renault UK.

The 33-year-old is also a multiple race winner in F2 and Spanish F3 formulas and is no stranger to Porsche Carrera Cup GB, having previously competed in the series during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, scooping five top-six finishes.

Richardson Racing, based in Corby, England, also boasts a terrific array of honours. In 2020, the team won the Protyre Ginetta GT5 Challenge, securing 13 wins and 15 podiums and this winning formula certainly bodes well for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB season ahead, with battle set to commence live on ITV4 this weekend.

Comline Auto Parts general manager – marketing and communications, Leigh Davies, commented: “I speak for everyone at Comline when I say how thrilled we are with this agreement. Richardson Racing is a hugely impressive team with a track record for success and bringing out the very best in its drivers.

“Will Bratt’s racing credentials underline his undoubted talent and I’m excited to see what team and driver can achieve during the season ahead.

“Porsche Carrera Cup is the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK and is backed by one of the World’s great automotive marques. Broadcasting to millions here in the UK and with highlights shown in over 150 countries worldwide, the series provides us with a tremendous opportunity to increase our brand reach and to get Comline in the public eye.”

Comline Richardson Racing driver, Will Bratt, said: “I’m looking forward to joining the Carrera Cup GB grid for a full season this year, and I am delighted to have been able to put together a deal with both Comline Auto Parts and Richardson Racing to make it possible.

“There are a lot of quick and experienced drivers on the grid this season, including a number of championship winners and plenty of people who have won a race. It promises to be a hugely competitive year, and I can’t wait to be part of it.”

Richardson Racing team principal, Gwyn Richardson, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Will onboard as part of our expanded Porsche line-up for the season ahead. Alongside our existing driver pairing, Will brings wealth of experience to the programme, and he has been quick in everything that he has raced in his career to date.

“We are confident that Will can fight towards the sharp end in what promises to be a very competitive and exciting season, and we are looking forward to working with both him and Comline Auto Parts during the year ahead.”
